The Bhat Puja (Rice Offering Ritual) performed at the sacred Mangalnath Temple in Ujjain is a highly significant spiritual practice conducted to pacify Mangal Dosha (Mars-related astrological afflictions). This temple is believed to be the birthplace of planet Mars (Mangal), making the ritual especially powerful and effective for those facing challenges due to unfavorable planetary positions.
This puja is performed to reduce the aggressive effects of Mars in one’s horoscope, remove obstacles in marriage, and bring harmony and stability in married life. During the ritual, cooked rice (bhat) and Panchamrit are offered to the Shivling, representing Lord Mangalnath (a form of Lord Shiva).
